COMMITTEES / ORGANIZATIONS
Parish Pastoral Council
Represents parishioners for the good of the parish as a whole.
Prepares for meetings by prayer, study and reflection on matters to come before the council.
Attend monthly meetings.
Accessible to parishioners; communicates with parishioners about their concerns.
Three-year commitment.
Financial Advisory Committee
Analyzes parish financial activity and determines ways and means of reaching financial goals.
Promotes Sacrificial Giving, within the context of a comprehensive Stewardship program.
Provides financial profile reports to the parish.
Works with the Business Director. Meets monthly.
Saint Augustine and Saint Mary’s Cathedral School Board
Serves and guides the parishes’ school.
Promotes understanding and support of Catholic Education.
Establishes policies relating to planning, operating and maintaining the education program, facilities and equipment.
Implements policies. Training required.
Liturgy Committee
Implements goals, directions and environmental standards set for liturgical celebrations.
Procures and coordinates persons needed for liturgical events, feasts, and seasons.
Works with pastor.
Faith Formation Committee
Provides opportunities for life-long faith development.
Advises, assists in coordinating and evaluates catechesis for all adults, young people and children.
Works with the Director of Faith Formation.
Meets monthly.
Health Ministry Committee
Provides opportunities to reaffirm the healing ministry of Christ and integrate the understanding of one’s faith with healthy attitudes and lifestyle.
Works with the Parish Nurse. Meets monthly.
Men’s Group
Generates income to be used for maintenance and improvement projects for the parish and for the school. Puts on Sunday morning monthly breakfasts from September through May. Provides the chance to build community within the parish. Meets monthly.
Christian Women
Supports and serves the parish community and school through various services and fundraising projects. Service projects include funeral luncheons, making doughnuts for the monthly breakfast, birthday parties at the nursing homes and mission support. Meets monthly.
