Frequently Asked Questions
Q) If I register my child for faith
formation, am I required to attend the adult Bible Studies or Speakers?
A) Whether you have children in the program or not, you are invited
to participate in adult formation.
Q) I noticed the prices have changed, how
come?
A) There are three reasons for this change 1) Children/Youth will
keep their books; 2) Adults will only pay for their materials; 3)
Implementing a family fee allows greater flexibility for families moving
in and out of programs.
Q) I don’t see the word “PEACE” anywhere on
these forms, why?
A) As we’ve re-visioned faith formation at St. Augustine’s this
year, we’ve chosen different ways to provide faith formation for people
than provided through the PEACE process.
Q) How often will my children be expected
to attend faith formation?
A) Faith Formation sessions will be held nearly every Wednesday.
Your child is invited to attend sessions as often as he/she is able to
attend.
Q) I don't see Liturgy nights on the
schedule this year, how come?
A) Liturgies will be offered during faith formation sessions
but not on a regular rotation. When we held Liturgy on week 4 each
month, we found our attendance dropped significantly, yet families of
the students leading liturgy attended. Allowing the liturgy night
to "float" within the schedule more freely will allow us to place family
liturgy nights in more appropriate liturgical places. The point of
offering Liturgy once a month as a part of faith formation is to engage
children/youth/adults into the ritual life of the church, equipping them
with experiences that will lead to greater participation in parish life.
