Dear Friends,
Saint Augustines Parish stands as a source of inspiration and reverence for many people in our community. Founded in 1919, Saint Augustines was placed under the guidance of the Benedictine monks of Saint Johns Abbey of Collegeville in
1937 until 2007. The Benedictine sense of community, prayer, welcome and hospitality
are hallmarks of Saint Augustines.
Our Parish Mission Statement states:
The Parish of Saint Augustine is a faith community which exists to witness the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. Drawing strength from shared
liturgical and prayer life experiences, we strive to welcome all, and to answer the call of Jesus to become stewards of our Catholic Faith as we educate, evangelize and serve the Body of Christ.
Consequently, we seem to have a steady growing amount of programming at Saint Augustines. This is due to our desire to provide good faith formation and religious education to our community, our concern for the welfare of the sick and elderly, our predilection for good liturgy and obligation to give praise and glory to God, our wish to provide welcoming hospitality to newcomers and guests, and our desire to reach out to the needy and neglected. Through Jesus Christ, God invites our gratitude through service. All the ministries we do as a parish are meant to either provide a service, or to nurture us for doing service. This is the work of Gods Kingdom on earth.
As we grow together as a parish family, we continue to dream of ways to communicate Christ to our sisters and brothers. I invite you to look through our web-site in order to find out more about the faith community of Saint Augustines.
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Anthony Oelrich
Pastor
